As
part of the wider Rowner regeneration project, the final retail unit at the new
40,000 sq ft Tesco superstore on Grange Road has been let to SUBWAY®. The new
outlet opened yesterday (7th November), joining Costa Coffee and Jaffer’s
Pharmacy which opened earlier in the Summer.
Portsmouth
commercial property consultants Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell completed three
of the four transactions with Costa Coffee taking a double unit and Subway
agreeing to lease the final space, adding to the outlet it opened in Eastleigh
a couple of months ago.
The
overall regeneration project has been undertaken by the Rowner Consortium and
when finished will comprise 700 new homes ranging from one bedroom apartments
to four bedroom houses, phase 1 of which is now nearing completion and phase 2,
the commercial area and apartments are due for occupation in early 2014.
Commenting
on the scheme, Tom Holloway, Agency Director at Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell
said: “The generation project has made a huge difference to Rowner and the
opening of Tesco earlier in the year has given the area a real boost.
Mark

Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, commented: “We’re delighted that the
first phase of the development at Rowner is now complete with the completion of
the new SUBWAY® store.

it’s an exciting project for me personally to be involved in; it’s a real
